Founded in 2000, in 2001 the first live performances were played with Skew Siskin and Rose Tattoo. In 2002 their debut album Blown Action Rock was released on Element Records and the V8 Wankers toured Germany with Cosmic Ballroom. In the same year they played at the Bizarre Festival and in Croatia with Motörhead. After their second album Automotive Rampage was released on Rude Records in 2003, the band played with Rose Tattoo again and performed at Wacken Open Air. In 2005 the album The Demon Tweak was released and the V8 Wankers went on a European tour, which took them to over 120 cities in 2006. The album Hell On Wheels was released in 2007, followed in 2010 by the album Foxtail Testimonial.

The band, which was once known for their full body tattoos but now has far fewer fully tattooed members, describes their genre as high speed rock ’n‘ roll.
